I have to admit that I agree with the cacophony of criticism about Apple’s latest round of TV ads. In fact, I almost had an allergic reaction to them when I first saw them air during the Olympics opening ceremony on Friday.

They looked and felt like ads that my former employer, Microsoft, used to release in attempt to position themselves as being relevant. 

I saw this ad the other day along with all the other new ads that Apple debuted during the olympics. I can’t help but feel embarrassed for everyone involved in creating them. It has no innovation, no excitement, no humor, no story. All it tells you is that the guy didn’t buy a Mac at the sketchy computer store and the Apple “Genius” seems like a bit of a pretentious tool.

My first thought was that Steve Jobs would have never let these air, but sadly we have no way of knowing.
